Pirate and Pimpernel (Spike/Giles; PG-13/T; Dance)
Title: Pirate and Pimpernel
Author: Kat Lee

Summary:
Disclaimer: All characters belong to their rightful owners, not the author.
Author's Note: With apologies and thanks to dragonyphoenix for first envisioning Giles as the Scarlet Pimpnerl! Hope you don't mind I borrowed your idea, but this ficlet would NOT leave me alone!
Author's Note #2: The lyrics are from Adam Ant's Jolly Roger, one of my favorites from my favorite artist who has finally surpassed Bowie in my book after the latter's most recent album.

"He'd hang them from the gallows just to see if they could dance!" Spike belted out the lyrics to one of his favorite songs while dancing provocatively around Giles' apartment.

The Watcher made a face of pure disdain. "Honestly, Spike, the things you listen to -- "

"Ha! Ha!" Spike laughed mightily with the song, then turned to glower with a quirked eyebrow at his flatmate who was looking up from one of his numerous books. He dropped down onto the arm of his chair. "You know, Ripper," he grinned, "you'd make a devilishly handsome Pirate."

"I'd much rather be the Scarlet Pimpernel."

"So it's settled, then. This Halloween, you dress as the Scarlet Pimp, and I'll be a Pirate."

"It is the Scarlet Pimpernel," Giles stressed, clearly ignored, which only made Spike's bold grin widen.

He knew exactly who the Scarlet Pimpernel was and felt Giles would certainly cut a figure at that historical figure. However, he himself would always prefer Pirates, and he knew he could rock Giles out of his mundaness and into his bed with the right costume.

Giles warily watched his smile, but then Spike's eyes caught his. "You would make a dashing Pirate," he admitted, with a small smile, despite himself. Blushing, he removed his glasses and reached for his handkerchief, but Spike caught that hand.

"I would," he agreed, bringing his hand to his lips and nibbling the tips of his fingers. When Giles stopped fidgeting and sighed, he leaned over, pressed his lips to his, and slid his tongue smoothly into his welcoming mouth.

They grinned against one another's mouths. They both knew their relationship was all sorts of wrong. There were many reasons for them not to be together, but they could think of no reason more important to separate than the reasons they had for staying together. No one had ever made them feel like they did for one another, and they needed no costumes to encourage them to get into the mood. Spike's grin grew wider and their passionate kiss quickened as he slid onto the Watcher's waiting lap.

The End

Are you kidding? I'm totally thrilled to see Giles as the Pimpernel again. Delightful!

LOL Good, and thank you! :-)

I rather figured you'd like seeing Pimpernel!Giles showing up again, but I wasn't too sure about the Giles/Spike pairing. As I mentioned, it was my first with them.

Thanks for the lovely reviews!

I always felt for Giles but couldn't actually understand his decision until I jumped into his brain to write that ficlet.
