Drabble: His Choice Made
Title: His Choice Made
Author: il_mio_capitano
Setting: Season 6

"Would you like something to drink, sir?"

Giles considered the question with an almost childish desire to drink the plane dry. There had been no hugs and goodbyes this time. Buffy knew his departure time well enough but had stayed away, daring him to go through with it.

And he had. He had destroyed the one precious relationship of his life. If she survived and managed to grow stronger without him, she would never rely on him again.  With a bitter laugh he finally thought he understood the point of the Cruciamentum.

And that sobering thought deserved a drink.

Excellent insight into how Giles would have felt and great story.

Great drabble. That last line in particular is a killer.

Thank you. Honestly, it wasn't how it was supposed to go. He was supposed to be a grown up and order a cup of tea. The middle bit took over.

Way to sneak one in at the last moment.

Poor Giles. He just wanted to do what was right. Great and sad work.

Thanks. Yes, I wasn't going to Drabble this week but someone offered Giles a drink in my head, and neither of could refuse.

It's interesting that Giles sees a tie to the Cruciamentum in all of this. Well done.

Thanks. It wasn't what I intended to write, it just sorta imposed itself.
