Characters/Pairing: Rupert Giles/Buffy Summers
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
Summary: Giles refuses to help Buffy.
A/N: written for giles_shorts for the last line "Giles smiled but said nothing."

Giles smiled but said nothing. There was no way he was going to allow himself to be dragged into this decision.

“Which one of these do you think fits me better?” Buffy repeated the question as she held up both of the skirts for him to see.

“You’ll just have to figure this one out on your own, Buffy.”

Buffy wanted to stomp her foot. “Why won’t you help me?”

“Let’s say I pick the purple one, what would...” Before he could finish speaking, Buffy quickly interrupted.

“What’s wrong with the red one?”

His smile widened. “I rest my case.”

Characters/Pairing: Rupert Giles, Buffy Summers
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
Summary: A slayer needs lots of practice.
A/N: written for giles_shorts for the last line "“You better get some practice.”

“You better get some practice.”

Buffy bristled at the words. “Practice and patrolling is all I ever do.”

Giles held up his hands. “I didn’t mean...” He removed his glasses and quickly cleaned them before pushing them back up the bridge of his nose. “What I meant was this new creature, if the ancient texts are correct is something you’ve never faced before.”

“How bad can it be?” She’d been the Slayer since she was fifteen, she was positive she could handle herself.

He pointed to the drawing in the book.

“I’d better practice.” She was going to need it.

Looking Good

Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Characters/Pairing: Rupert Giles, Buffy Summers (implied Angel/Buffy)
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
Summary: That's her story and she's sticking to it.
A/N: written for giles_shorts for the last line "You can't possibly be carrying any weapons."

"You can't possibly be carrying any weapons." Giles stared open mouthed at the purple mini skirt and lacy top Buffy was wearing. "Aren't you patrolling tonight?"

Buffy nodded. "Uh huh."

"But your clothes aren't..." At the look on Buffy's face Giles stopped talking.

"Get with the times, Giles." Buffy grabbed her stake from the top of the desk. "Just because I'm the Slayer doesn't mean I can't look good while I'm slaying."

His eyes narrowed as a thought occurred. “Is Angel meeting you there?”

She tried to shrug nonchalantly. “He might.”

A deep sigh escaped him.

He should have known.

Dressed to Kill

Title: Dressed to Kill
Author: il-mio-capitano
Length: 100
Characters: Giles and Buffy
Rating: FRC

But when Buffy came down the stairs in that little black dress, stilettos, and the bright red lipstick that accentuated her pout, he knew his plans were doomed.

"Where do you think you're going?" Giles cautiously asked.

"I'm your 'plus one'."

"The invitation doesn't include a 'plus one'."

"The invitation doesn't include the bit about it being a big fat trap for gullible watchers." She smiled sweetly. "Maybe the card was too small?"

Giles turned and tugged at his bow tie in the mirror.

"I can look after myself, you know," he griped. "You can't possibly be carrying any weapons."

Drabble: Doomed

Title: Doomed
Author: littleotter73
Characters: Giles/Buffy
Setting: Post Series
Rating: FRC
Word Count: 100

It didn’t matter how much she begged, he wasn’t going to give in. No amount of bargaining, reasoning, whining, or even threatening bodily harm was going to prevent him from staying in. If she wanted to go out clubbing with the gang, that was fine by him, but there was a fire in the hearth, a mystery novel by the arm of his chair, and he’d just made up an Irish coffee.

But when Buffy came down the stairs in that little black dress, stilettos, and the bright red lipstick that accentuated her pout, he knew his plans were doomed.

Firstline Lastline: Destiny

Title: Destiny
Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Characters/Pairing: Rupert Giles, Buffy Summers (implied Giles/Buffy)
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 100
Summary: Buffy realizes that being the slayer isn't the worst thing.
A/N: written for giles_shorts for the last line Destiny had dealt her a solid.

Destiny had dealt her a solid. Granted that wasn’t her first reaction. Buffy had hated becoming the Slayer. She’d thought it had all but ruined her life.

But things changed when she moved to Sunnydale.

There she’d met Giles. The man who was her watcher, her first grown-up friend and if she were honest with herself in the deepest part of her, hidden away where no one would ever know he had become her crush.

“Ready?” Giles handed her the crossbow.

“Always.” She hoped her blushing wasn’t noticeable as she reached for the weapon.

Being the Slayer wasn’t that bad.

Drabble: Tattoo Removal

Title: Tattoo Removal
Author: Quaggy
Word Count: 100
Last line prompt: "She watched him leave with a wicked smile on her face."
Notes: Set after right after The Dark Age.

With a wicked smile on her face, Buffy spun around and lifted up her hair.

“It’s gone!” exclaimed Giles, his fingers brushed the nape of her neck where the tattoo had been.

“Yup! The back of my neck has been crazy itchy all day. By the time I looked, Ethan’s stupid souvenir had faded to practically nothing. I guess my Slayer healing doesn’t like evil tattoos. Or possibly just tattoos in general.”

“Amazing!”

“It sure beats a vial of acid!”

“Well, Ethan always did go for dramatic rather than effective.”

“So, his plan wouldn’t have worked?”

“Not on any level.”

Pairing: B/G

She wanted to keep him all to herself, but she was going to have to give him back to his parents eventually.

“He’s quite taken with you,” Giles laughed.

“It’s mutual,” Buffy replied, smiling down at the infant.

“Has that inspired any thoughts?” he asked, his eyes hopeful.

“No, Giles, my biological clock isn’t ticking,” she replied and did her best not to laugh at his crestfallen expression. “Because we’ll have one of these of our very own by the spring.”

“Wait… Do you mean?”

“Here,” Buffy said, passing the baby to her awestruck husband. “You better get some practice.”

Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
Summary: He really needed to stop tempting fate.
A/N: written for giles_shorts for the last line Maybe things would work out okay after all.

Maybe things would work out okay after all. The Master was dead, the Hellmouth lay silent once more and Buffy was on the way back to being her old self again. A relieved smile flitted at the corners of his mouth. Far be it for him to jinx it but he could dare say things were starting to look up.

“Giles, you have got to come quick. You are not going to believe this!”

Bloody hell! “Weapons?”

Xander nodded his head and followed Giles to the weapons locker. “Big ones.”

When was he going to learn to stop tempting fate?

Firstline Lastline: Lost Lamb

Title: Lost Lamb
Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Characters/Pairing: Rupert Giles/Drusilla, Angelus
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
Summary: If the stars say it then it must be true.
A/N: written for giles_shorts for the last line You'd better have brought enough to share.

"You'd better have brought enough to share."

Dru turned around and growled as she bared her fangs at Angelus who stood staring at her. At a strangled sound from the Watcher lying tied to the bed she spun back around and in a singsong voice she whispered “Shush now my lost lamb, Mummy’s here.”

From the moment she had kissed him in pretense the stars had whispered he belonged to her and she had fought to get him back. And now she wasn’t going to share him with anyone. Not even Miss Edith. It didn’t matter how much she begged.
